A teacher of mine once told me that all poetry is categorized into either standard “poetry”, those writings that use stanzas and rhymes, or “prose”, which is everything else. Which means, of course, that every thing that’s ever been written is a form of poetry, from Excel spreadsheets and interdepartmental memos to Shakespeare and Longfellow. These, however, are the more traditional kind.
